Milos Wine Bar is a new concept by the Estiatorio Milos at the Hudson Yards neighborhood. At Milos Wine Bar we feature a hand-selected list of more than 50 Greek wines, all available by the glass in a casual atmosphere. Our philosophy has always been to provide a convivial place to socialize, share a glass of wine with friends and neighbors, and learn about Greek viticulture.
The Opportunity
As a Junior Sommelier at Milos Wine Bar you will be responsible for creating memorable experiences for our guests at the bar. You will be working seamlessly behind the bar, on the floor, and at the tasting table with the rest of the team to ensure clear communication and impeccable service, all while upholding Milos Wine Bar’s vision, mission & culture.
What You’ll Be Doing
Actively cultivate and maintain strong, caring relationships with guests, staff, and neighboring businesses
Complete opening and closing side work
Guide guests through beverage and food menus, suggest courses, pairing and explain any off-menu dishes
Engage in on-going educational opportunities
Take orders from guests and ensure 100% accuracy when entering into the POS system
Handle guest complaints with grace and escalate to management as necessary
Maintain sanitation to DOH standards
Be a team player – support and assist your fellow team members whenever possible
