HERFF JONES, Maintenance Lead – Arcola, IL
YOUR OPPORTUNITY:
The Herff Jones Operations team, based in Arcola, IL is looking for a Maintenance Lead to join our maintenance team.
Here’s How You’ll Make an Impact:
Reporting to the Maintenance supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and assisting in the completion of the day-to-day activities involving the maintenance of the building/facility, equipment and machinery, including HVAC, building lighting systems, production line equipment, grounds keeping, security and overall facility appearance.

As we see it for right now, however, here are the challenges that we want you to tackle:
Works with maintenance supervisor to plan work priorities, obtain necessary supplies, and assess skills needed to complete tasks.
Collaborates with team members to discuss upcoming work assignments; delegates assignments based on team members skills and experience.
Ensures maintenance and repair work is completely safely, effectively, and in a timely manner.
Enforce sound safety and housekeeping practices
Assists team members with technical issues or advanced problems with given assignments.
Inspects work performed by team members.
Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues
Check electrical and hydraulic systems of buildings to ensure functionality
Other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring to the Table:
High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience
Manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC
An AA degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance preferred
Proven experience in a team leadership role
Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems etc.
Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
