The Herff Jones Cap and Gown team, based in Arcola IL, is looking for a Graduation Cap Inspector to join our team.
Here’s How You’ll Make an Impact:
As a manufacturing team member, you will be required to differentiate different types of material and inspect all component parts meet our quality standards.
At Herff Jones we may have been around for 100 years, but we still have the mentality of a scrappy startup. For you, that means your job may grow and change over time. But don’t worry, we would never ask an employee to take on an assignment they didn’t already have the right skill sets they needed to succeed. As we see it for right now, however, here are the challenges that we want you to tackle:
Will learn to meet production and quality standards for this operation.
Will learn how to join cut pellon and material arts to form a crown in accordance with standards using a XY sewing machine and loading ETON.
Will learn about all product lines.
Ability to select material by quality standards, colors, styles and shades.
Ability to recognize colors and different cloth styles.
You will learn to use the glue machine to assemble caps
What You’ll Bring to the Table:
Must have adequate computer skills.
Must be self-motivated.
Reading, writing and math skills commensurate with job duties.
Physical strength and dexterity to perform essential job functions.
Lift up to 30 lbs. multiple times a day
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Standing for 8 hours a day or longer during our busy season.
Job may require lifting to, but not exceeding 30 pounds.
Must be able to work all mandatory overtime
