The Principal Back-End Developer role has a variety of responsibilities:

• Write well structured, secure code
• Routinely inspect server code for speed optimization
• Conceptualize and implement solutions for data storage
• Maintain a stable server with zero downtime
• Keep a backup library before any large changes to server
• Be involved and participate in the overall application lifecycle
• Main focus on coding and debugging
• Build high-quality reusable code that can be used in the future
• Learn about new technologies
• Stay up to date with current best practices

requirements

The ideal Principal Back-End Developer will have the following skills:

• 6+ years experience in building Web Applications that are robust, maintainable and scalable
• Experience with back end technologies and frameworks (Ruby/Ruby on Rails, NodeJS/Express or others)
• Experience with SQL and No-SQL Databases (preferably PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Redis or others)
• Good working knowledge with GraphQL would be considered a plus
• Familiarity with automation testing techniques and tools
• Deep understanding of the Object-Oriented programming patterns and best practices
• A broad knowledge of the web platform as a whole (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, HTTP/S, web performance, web security)
• Deep understanding of software architecture and software development life cycle
• Knowledge and an active interest in Design Patterns and SOLID architecture principles
• Ability to adapt to changing requirements and delivery timelines; Agile development experience (including tools like Git, SCRUM/Agile tools) would be considered a plus
• Great communication skills and evidence of successful collaboration in a team
• Passion for learning and innovation
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
