Position Summary:
The primary responsibilities of the Shipping Claims Clerk is to handle all administration for carrier claims and other related tasks for missing or lost deliveries.

Core Activities:

  • Evaluate claims as assigned, determine the best approach for resolution and execute this approach.
  • Enter claim into appropriate carrier software/system (FedEx, USPS, UPS).
  • Track submitted claims.
  • Provide accurate and detailed reporting as required to the customer service team, customer, and/or sales representative.
  • Demonstrate the ability to successfully obtain recoveries from responsible parties in a timely manner.
  • Accurately document each claim and file appropriately.
  • Serve as a single point-of-contact in the warranty department for all shipping escalations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Previous customer service or customer-facing role is a plus.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast paced, team environment.
  • Demonstrate strong organization and detail skill.
  • Must speak and read English.
  • Computer knowledge and skills to include Word, Excel, and Transactional ERP business systems.
  • Must be able to spend long periods of time working at a computer.

Expectations within first 90 days in the role:

  • First 30 days: Complete all onboarding and training courses. Ensure fundamental understanding of the position and department business processes.
  • First 60 days: Understand the high-level flow of products and processes. Build working relationship with office coworkers.
  • First 90 days: Demonstrate ability to navigate operating systems. Be able to take on assignments and tasks on your own.
