The Special Events Program Assistant II will be a valuable member of the Constituent Engagement team assisting in the planning and execution of in-person and virtual events. This position will assist with the Cardinal & Gold Gala program, plan and execute virtual events, support programs and events on the Constituent Engagement team, and coordinate engagement activities with specific alumni groups such as Greek Alumni Alliance, Black College Network, Alumni Band, and the ISU Network of Carillon Alumni.

This position will require occasional evening and weekend work hours dependent upon events.

Example of Duties

  • Event Assistance such as coordinating vendors & internal teams, event coding, nametags, research, and pre-/on-site/post-event work.
  • Use creativity to plan and execute virtual events/engagement activities.
  • Serve as liaison to volunteers leading alumni groups by assisting with meeting and event planning and communications. Attending meetings as needed.
  • Maintains and builds customer, volunteer, and vendor relationships.
  • Assist in all aspects of Cardinal & Gold Gala planning, such as décor, auction, and registration, set up, and tear down.

  • Able to resolve most problems and issues and respond to requests without escalation
  • Provides guidance to students
  • May provide supervision to one to two other staff or lead a small work team
