HERFF JONES, Stone Inventory Control Clerk – Warwick, RI
YOUR OPPORTUNITY:
The Herff Jones Operations team, based in Warwick, RI is looking for an Inventory Control Clerk to join our team. This role specifically responsible for the numerous precious and non-precious stones used in our various rings and other jewelry items.
Here’s How You’ll Make an Impact:
Reporting to the Inventory Control Manager, you will be responsible for production order fulfillment of stones in support of inventory integrity and manufacturing needs.

But don’t worry, we would never ask an employee to take on an assignment they didn’t already have the right skill sets they needed to succeed. As we see it for right now, however, here are the challenges that we want you to tackle:
Allocation of stones for all manufacturing orders, including special orders and sample orders.
Accuracy of stones placed into envelopes
Use of Oracle System to make the allocations against the manufacturing orders.
Partnership with the “small parts” area in ensuring fulfillment of stones and components necessary to meet their requirements.
Partnership and communicate promptly any concerns with the stone purchasing area for out of stock or to be expedited stones.
Partnership with Manufacturing and/or stone inspector when necessary where quality of a stone is questionable.
Perform daily cycle counting activity.
Maintaining inventory accuracy and integrity of stones or other components in the stone crib.
Maintenance of data collection of issues requiring replacement stones for inventory control and performance indicators reported on.
Validation of stone specification accuracy included on manufacturing orders, including sample orders.
Additional projects or duties as identified and required.
What You’ll Bring to the Table:
1-3 years’ experience in a similar Inventory or Production Control role in addition to meeting the following requirements:
Education / Certifications Required – high school diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to read and write in English is required.
Must be able to work overtime and on Saturdays during busy seasons
Ability to establish priorities and work independently.
Proficient computer skills: Oracle system experience and Excel skills a plus
Strong communication skills
Multi-tasking skills.
Ability to work well with people having different ethnic, social, or educational backgrounds; understand the cultural differences of different groups.
Physical Requirements
Ability to move throughout the office and factory briskly and often.
Squatting, bending and lifting no more than 10 pounds.
Corrected Vision for a lot of very small detail stones and parts.
Must be able to endure long periods of sitting.
