Coordinate and publish an alumni newsletter at least once per academic year.
Publish an FSL update to all undergraduate members at least once per month.
Advise the social media/PR positions for each council and manage the JSUFSL social media pages.
Assist with risk reduction education and programming.
Assist with New Member Orientation sponsored by Fraternity and Sorority Life.
Assist with all council and leadership retreats including developing curriculum for the retreats.
Assist with recruitment/intake activities for each council.
Advise Order of Omega.
Plan and executive Greek Weekend activities.
Plan and executive Hazing Prevention Week activities.
Be knowledgeable of all JSU and council policies that relate to Fraternity and Sorority Life.
Assist the Associate Dean of Students with record keeping and maintenance.
Collaborate with Marketing Services to develop marketing materials for Fraternity & Sorority Life.
Develop positive relationships with council officers and members.
Assist with Fraternity & Sorority Life marketing and recruitment during Gamecock Orientation.
Required Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
Demonstrates effective public speaking skills
Knowledge of the Dean of Students responsibilities and major events.
An understanding and commitment to encouraging and developing student involvement.
An eagerness to develop and mentor campus leaders.
The ability and willingness to communicate with the Associate Dean of Students, co-workers, campus directors, students, administration and other contacts in a professional manner.
Ability to read and comprehend written materials encountered on the job.
Ability to gather and analyze information in order to make recommendations.
Ability to work in a team atmosphere with minimal supervision.
Willingness to accept night and weekend hours.
Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft office, internet, etc.)
Experience using computer programs and social media outlets to create publications, documents, and records.
Experience creating professional presentations to be used across campus for a variety of audiences.
Basic production knowledge and skills.
Basic knowledge of music editing, sound board skills and lighting board skills.
Developed creative writing skills.
Ability to learn and adapt to changing situations and requirements.
Ability to set goals and objectives and develop strategies to achieve those goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must be enrolled as a JSU student taking at least three (3) hours per fall or spring semester. (Requirements for international students below.*)
If not a first-time student, applicant must have a GPA of 2.00 or higher.
Selected applicants must provide evidence of student enrollment and GPA (unofficial transcript or printout of enrollment/GPA from MyJSU.
Preferably a Senior or Graduate Student
