Job Title: Commodities Valuation Specialist

Job Function Summary
We are looking for a sharp, dynamic Commodities Valuations Specialist to join our team. The Valuation Analytics team is responsible for intraday and end of day valuation for the firm’s trading positions. The group works closely with our Risk and Technology departments to integrate and calibrate pricing models, and incorporate market data feeds to produce the firm’s official valuation. In conjunction with Risk Management, the group designs and implements processes and workflows to meet valuation needs of new products and asset classes. The team will also work closely with the Middle Office’s P&L team to ensure that policy and procedures are being accurately followed at all times.
Day-to-day, you will have the opportunity to build pricing models, mark OTC curves, set up new products, observe and analyze P&L/risk/pricing processes, in addition to liaising with the front office, technology, risk management and operations teams on projects. You will be primarily focused on valuations for commodities products (mainly power, natural gas and crude oil), though knowledge of other commodities and also equities/fixed income products would be highly advantageous. Principal Responsibilities
Pricing/Valuations – Responsible for maintaining, monitoring and establishing procedures and controls to support the intra-day pricing and end of day marking of commodities products within the firm. Responsible for publishing and signing off on the firm’s official end of day marks and curves and managing related pnl processes.
Security Setup – Coordinate new product setup with related Ops/MO/Risk/Technology teams
Primary Interface – The Middle Office function will be the primary interface for portfolio managers. As a single place that the portfolio managers can go to resolve and coordinate pnl, pricing, position, technology, risk and security setup related issues
Qualifications/Skills Required
3+ years of experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with a strong academic record
Experience explaining and reporting on commodities p&l
Knowledge of standard commodities contract specs off main exchanges (ICE, NYMEX)
Experience shaping and building OTC futures curves
Knowledge of options greek P&L attribution, options pricing models, standard volatility configurations and interpolation and extrapolation settings
Experience working with technology teams as a product owner in building out the platform and resolving issues
Programming (VBA, PYTHON, SQL)
Experience with Openlink Endur
Experience with Bloomberg and Reuters
Experience documenting procedures
Detail oriented and demonstrates thoroughness and strong ownership of work
High sense of urgency, strong communication skills, quick learner
