DISTRIBUTION CENTERS
As one of the largest independent food distributors in the Intermountain West, Nicholas and Company delivers over 10,000 products throughout a six-state area. Our partnerships and distribution area ensures Nicholas and Company’s ability to serve the diverse needs of the food service industry for years to come.
Nicholas and Company has three distribution centers varying in storage capacity to efficiently and safely store quality products in optimal condition for our customers. Our Warehouse team members go through extensive training to ensure safety and accuracy.

JOB DESCRIPTION
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and professional individual to build their career with our Warehouse Department as a Warehouse Operations Supervisor. This is a dynamic role where you will be a key part of our Warehouse Team with objectives including:

  • Driving the productivity and leading by example to maintain established procedures, processes, and housekeeping standards in all areas of night shift operations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain programs to enhance productivity, recognition, and accuracy and any other projects as assigned by the department head

WE’LL TRUST YOU TO: **

  • Providing a safe work environment. We encourage participation by completing monthly safety refreshers, stretching, providing safety tips, and recognizing each other for working safely.
  • Ensure that all manifests, customer packets and miscellaneous paperwork are properly processed and keeping the flow of work constant at all times, while executing observation checks in all areas throughout the night to ensure best practice expectations are met.
  • Communicate with customers and Customer Solutions to ensure high service levels are consistently maintained.
  • Evaluate and review team member performance by ensuring that duties, responsibilities, authority, and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood and in compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as state, federal, and safety regulations
  • Providing and/or assign training for department personnel
  • Assist department head in devoting and adhering to budget requirements and assist with payroll preparation.
  • Our warehouse includes dry, cooler and freezer storage. We’ll provide the cooler/freezer wear but be prepared to work in temperatures as low as -10.
  • Our goal is to be one with our partners in mutual success. Because meeting customer expectations are a must, quality and productivity are critical.
  • Provide coverage to all areas of the warehouse to ensure all dispatch times are me and in conjunction with department head, direct the day-to-day activities of the warehouse operation – Activities include: order selection, replenishment, restocking, product location, shipping, assist routing, etc.
  • Be responsible for hiring, developing and reassigning the work force to ensure proper staffing to select and ship merchandise in a safe, accurate, productive and cost-efficient manner and provide feedback and suggestions for improvement.
  • This position will require you to lift (up to 100lbs) and bend throughout your shift

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:

  • Two plus years of previous supervisory experience
  • Associates degree or equivalent related job experience
  • Conduct operations in compliance with OSHA and food safety standards
  • Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety

BONUS POINTS FOR:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Two plus years previous supervisory experience in a high volume distribution setting showing the ability to manage, hire, train, motivate, coach and develop up to 30 employees consistently
  • Experience in managing P&L budget expense
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to build strong relationships through servant leadership traits with attention to detail
  • Demonstrate the ability to make timely decisions using sound judgment
