This is an opportunity for the potential candidate to work in First Line Risk (FLR) Management for the SwapClear business. The FLR responsibilities include continuous monitoring of margin levels and market risk, as well as the opportunity to assist in Risk testing and Risk process automation. As a member of the New York FLR team focusing on the SwapClear service, the candidate is required to be experienced and passionate about learning and maintain daily risk monitoring processes, as well as delivering business change within the investment banking sector.
Responsibilities:
Continuously monitor of risk exposures and producing regular reporting to identify exceptional positions and escalating changes as appropriate.
Oversee and manage building LCH’s interest rate yield curves (used for mark-to-market and HisVaR calculations)
Ensure that margin is in place to quantify potential risks, escalating where necessary
Timely and accurate analysis of risk issues
Ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of data sources and methodologies applied
Analyze and interpret data to provide regular reports for stakeholders to support decision making, identifying risks outside appetite
Adhere to applicable risk control frameworks, policies and procedures in scope of own role and applies this to processes consistently
Ensure that ‘best practice’ risk management is followed
Contribute to improvements in existing risk testing techniques and processes through the application of advanced automated processes
Own issues and their resolution. Escalate appropriately both internally and externally to ensure projects are efficient and on track
Agile Project/Release Management (SME/BA input in Quality Gate release management)
Challenge the status quo and identify and implement cross-functional efficiencies to speed up and reduce the cost of future projects and programs
Requirements:
Degree in Math related field or equivalent training in financial mathematics
Experience using both VBA and Python
Some background in Fixed Income Instruments (Swaps or Bonds) and Risk (Value at Risk (VAR); Stress testing; Greeks)
Strong analytical, numerical and problem solving skills, with good attention to detail
Ability to manage workload and priorities and demonstrates ability to work to deadlines
Good communication skills (written and oral)
Self-motivated individual who is enthusiastic, willing to learn and develop their own opinions is essential
