ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP: This position reports to the Assistant Dean of Campus Life

Job Purpose: The Director of Student Engagement and Activities (SEA) provides and supports programs and activities that stimulate and enhance the curricular and co-curricular experiences of students. This position works closely with others in the Division of Campus Life to help the College achieve its mission of creating a seamless and inclusive learning environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
Provide a vision for intentional student learning, leadership development, and community development with specified outcomes that supplements academic experiences. Create short term and long term strategic plans for the office.

Program development and implementation of campus wide educational, cultural, and recreational activities, including Orientation events, Welcome Week, Homecoming, Wagnerstock, Songfest, and others.

Supervise the professional, graduate, and student staff of SEA. Positions of supervision may include Assistant Director of SEA, Graduate Assistants, and student workers.

Actively engage in the organization, planning, and execution of orientation, including the training and development of orientation and year-long Community Leaders.

Serve as a liaison to clubs and organizations, providing direction and suggestions to clubs and their advisors for their ongoing development.

Advisor to Wagner Campus Activities Board (WagCAB) and President’s Roundtable for Greek organizations.

Create programs and services to meet the needs of the commuter students on conjunction with campus partners and stakeholders.

Development of and support for fraternity (Tau Kappa Epsilon, Kappa Sigma Alpha, Theta Chi) and sorority life (Alpha Sigma Alpha, Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Omicron Pi, Tau Kappa Sigma).

Create leadership development programs for student organizations and emerging leaders that focus on personal leadership style and team development.

Develop training and recognition programs for student organization advisors.

Support the College’s civic engagement, diversity, and philanthropic initiatives.

Direct oversight of fiscal budget for the office.

Work closely with the campus offices and faculty to create a seamless experience between curricular and co-curricular activities.

Assist new groups interested in forming on campus, oversee club and organization advisement.

Oversight of the campus coffee house, including programming, marketing, staffing, and purchasing.

Production of publications including activities calendars, brochures, and resource guides.

Website development and posting of campus events on the campus calendar.

Act as a liaison with the faculty, community, and appropriate college offices through attendance at college and community functions as well as campus wide committees.

Serve in an administrator on call duty rotation.

Serve on student conduct hearing board panels.

Other duties as assigned.

Special Notes:
This position includes a two bedroom off-campus apartment that is unfurnished. Additionally, a campus meal plan is provided.

Qualifications:
Work Experience: Experience working with various constituencies including: students, faculty, alumni, and the surrounding community. Greek Life experience strongly preferred. Significant experience in student activities, student government, programming, student affairs, or a related field.

Education: Masters degree required.

Desired Work Traits: Excellent teamwork skills, ability to be flexible and work under multiple deadlines, collaboration skills, positive attitude. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Special Considerations: Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
