Position Summary:
The Department of General Studies seeks to hire part time (adjunct) instructors to teach ART 101-Introduction to Art History. We are looking for adjunct faculty who have a strong commitment to high-quality undergraduate education. Successful candidates will be able to: plan, prepare, and teach an approved course of study with measurable objectives and principle-based outcomes; support our unique learning and teaching framework; create and execute immersive learning opportunities, establish and foster a learner- centered classroom environment; evaluate student learning using multiple means of assessment; and maintain and submit timely and detailed student grade records. Adjunct faculty also attend regular training; participates in other trainings when possible. A typical teaching load would be one to three classes a semester as needed.
Online instructors are employees of OLL Services LLC. The LLC provides online support for educational institutions affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including Brigham Young University-Idaho, BYU Pathway Worldwide, BYU Hawaii, and Ensign College.

Position Summary
This is an interest list posting for ART 101: Survey of Art History. This course serves as a basic introduction to major works of art examined for their value in communicating ideas of different cultures throughout the history of civilization. Learning includes the history and development of art in the western world from ancient Greek beginnings to contemporary art. Learners will traverse paths of critical and creative inquiry while defining movements and periods of art history. Interactive and interdisciplinary approaches will encourage learners to implement visual analysis through artistic principles and frameworks of understanding. Information and illumination will cause learners to curate connections to their own experiences.
Online adjunct faculty mentor students and facilitate teaching and learning.
As teaching opportunities for the course arise, interest list applicants selected for further review will be asked to participate in an online asynchronous assessment which serves in place of a formal interview.

Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree or higher. Preference given to those with a degree in Art History or an equivalent field.
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree or higher in Art History or an equivalent field.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness.
Preferred Qualifications:
All candidates should be well experienced in the formal set-up of a college-level class and have a sense of a particular pedagogy for the foundation in GE distribution courses.

Work Schedule:
Online adjunct faculty work from home. The schedule is flexible, but instructors should plan to be present in their course 5 days each week (Monday through Saturday).
