Duties and Responsibilities
Supervises and trains two Program Coordinators; aids in the selection, training, and management of Graduate Interns and 5 Commuter Student Life Ambassadors,
Direct supervision of the Student Organizations and Engagement Coordinator responsible for managing the Campus Activities Network, student organization registration and recognition process, policy implementation, purchasing and signature events,
Supervises the Student Organizations and Involvement Coordinator who is responsible for advising the allocations committee, purchasing and coordinating the Emerging Leaders Program,
Oversees the Student Organization recognition and registration processes,
Provides direction and guidance in the management and execution of small and large scale events,
Creates and implements assessment tools for the department,
Manages a general programming budget of approximately $150,000,
Provides oversight for the coordination of the SAF Semester Budget and SPOT funding request processes and the allocation/review process for student organizations,
Works with outside vendors to secure services and contracts,
Serve as the primary office liaison with the Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution, when addressing student organization conduct matters,
Manages Campus Labs/Engage student involvement platform,
Responsible for purchasing process for Commuter Student Life,
Coordinates the bi-annual process for reviewing and updating the Student Organization Handbook,
Supports First Year Experience University 101 course development and facilitation,
Oversees the Commuter Resource Room,
Attends area and departmental staff meetings as required,
Attends student organization or department events as assigned,
Performs related duties as required.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Master’s degree in student affairs, student personnel, higher education, or related field, supplemented with three years of full time employment working with registered student organizations.
Qualifications
A minimum of 3 years working experience related with student organizations, commuter students and programming.
Strong advising, counseling and budgetary skills.
Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills.
Ability to effectively interact with students, faculty, staff, families, and community members representing diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Ability to represent the department and University with care and tact.
Demonstrated ability to utilize sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.
Certificates/Credentials/Licenses
Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Student Personnel, Higher Education, or related field.
Computer Skills
Proficiency with Campus Labs Engagement Platform, MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
Ability to manage web content and use social media tools.
