The Department of Classics at Cornell University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or tenured Associate Professor faculty position in Ancient Greek and Latin Literature. Candidates with research specializations in one or the other literature should demonstrate competence in areas of both. The primary emphasis is on literary studies, and we especially welcome candidates working in race and gender, classics and decoloniality, classical reception, and/or performance studies. Teaching will be at the graduate level in at least one of the two languages and at all other levels in both, with a load of 2-2. The department is looking for candidates who can support and encourage our increasingly diverse student body. In addition to undergraduate and graduate teaching and advising, responsibilities include service to the department and the university.
