Position Summary
Governors State University is seeking to hire a Greek Life Coordinator.
Under the general direction of the Executive Director, Center for Student Engagement and Intercultural Programs, the Coordinator for Greek Life will provide leadership, guidance, and support to Greek-letter organizations at Governors State University. The oversight of Greek Life will include assisting fraternities and sororities in meeting their goals and objectives, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, and adherence to university policies, procedures, and regulations. The Coordinator will provide advisor training, Greek Life advisement, programming and leadership training, as well as policy development.
Salary Range: $41,734.88 to $48,486.74.
(This is a non-unionized position. Salary starts at the base and is determined based on Education and Experience exceeding the minimum qualifications).
Minimum Qualifications
REQUIRED: COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY TRANSCRIPTS, WHICH INCLUDES THE EARNED DEGREE AND CONFERRED DATE MUST BE ATTACHED FOR CONSIDERATION OF THIS POSITION (See “Special instructions to applicants” section below).
Bachelor’s degree in Student Affairs, College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Counseling or equivalent.
A minimum of two years of professional (post-graduate) experience within Student Affairs (i.e. Greek Life, Student Activities, Residence Life, etc.)
Direct involvement and/or working experience with Greek Life.

- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
- Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion work and the ability to appropriately and effectively understand and adapt to cultural differences within a group environment.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Master’s degree in Student Affairs, College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Counseling or equivalent.
- Experience in program and event management preferred.
- Working knowledge of national fraternity/sorority governing bodies such as NPHC, NIC, NPC and others.
- Experience in budget management and planning, appropriate technology and data base management and excellent oral and written communication skills is also required.
- Experience with and demonstrated competence using social media, student engagement platforms (such as CampusLabs), and software (Adobe products and online multimedia tools) to meet the objectives of the position.
