Director of Residential & Campus Life

This position is responsible for leading a team charged with student engagement and retention through programs, services and operational management of residential life, student activities, and recreation and wellness.

Responsibilities

Manages and directs Residential Life (50%) Monitor and implement strategies to enhance campus living experience, improve resident retention and occupancy. Manage resident and property management platform, StarRez. Facilitate a seamless department operation by working closely with university departments: facility management, billing, technology and security. Supervise professional and student staff. Lead residential coordinator team in community development, operations, and student issue resolutions. Occasionally serve on-call for emergencies. Facilitate assessments to guide department service and program improvement plans. Service as point of contact for housing complaints and resolutions. Oversee Campus Life programs and operations. (40%) Provides administrative supervision to professional staff member, student assistants, and programming groups focused on university sponsored student activities (examples: Welcome Week, Blue and Gold Week, Homecoming), student programing board called Student Engagement Team for Student Activities Oversee Canes Leading Canes (CLC) student development program focused on Residential Leaders, Thunder Campus counselors, and Storm Spotters (in conjunction with FYE). Provide support to personnel responsible for advising Student Government Association. Work closely with staff member responsible for Greek Life, leadership development and service programs. Guide staff members in coordinating relative programs and services that address current student needs and institution priorities. Contribute to Division of Student Engagement and Success and GSW goals and priorities. (10%) Assist with division priorities focused on diversity, equity and inclusion. Serve as a senior leader within the Division of Student Engagement and Success; serves as division representative and liaison on matters related to student engagement and success initiatives. Represent the Division of Student Engagement and Success at university functions and off-campus events. Assist in strategic planning and in the development and implementation of division policies, programs, and guidelines. Assist with creating, implementing, and monitoring high-impact education programs for students. Provide leadership to direct reports and staff, including creating a common vision and goals, seeking and providing input, making and following-up on assignments, and assessing work. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in a course of study related to the occupational field required. More than three years of related experience.
