- Bachelor’s Degree in college student personnel, student development, higher education, or a closely related field of study, and six or more years of demonstrated knowledge of, and experience working in a professional role in student affairs.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with Greek letter organizations, including culturally-based fraternities and sororities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of legal issues related to higher education and risk management practices.

- Demonstrated commitment working with, supporting, and developing students from diverse populations.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience.
- Ability to navigate and succeed in a complex, diverse, and large professional environment.

Salary Range: $60,000 – $67,000

Supervision and Leadership:
- Provide support and advocacy for the Inter-Fraternity Council (IFC), Pan-Hellenic Council (PHC), Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), and National Pan Hellenic Council (NPHC).
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Fraternity and Sorority Life area, including budget development and management.
- Supervise Fraternity and Sorority Life professional, graduate, and student staff.
- Set strategic vision and direction for FSL area, in line with the overall direction of the Office for Student Affairs.
- Assist in responding to student emergencies, incidents, and issues by counseling students; making referrals to appropriate stakeholders such as University Police, chapter advisors, inter/national headquarters, student conduct, Office of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action, Aurora Center, Student Activities, and the central office for Student Affairs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures relating to OFSL
- Provide semester reports for scholarship, membership, and other pertinent statistics.
- Maintain current records of chapter officers, members, chapter and faculty advisor information.
Program Development and Assessment:
- Oversee and collaborate with other stakeholders on the planning and presentation of programs to address and educate about high-risk behaviors such as hazing, alcohol and other drug use, as well as bystander training and sexual misconduct prevention programs.
- Collaborate with executive governing council and chapter leadership on workshops related to risk prevention and event planning, which will be administered every semester to all fraternities and sororities.
- Work with fraternity and sorority leaders and the university community to identify opportunities for collaboration and create new programs and support structures based on current trends or needs.
- Establish resources and services for students involved in IFC, PHC, NPHC & MGC fraternities and sororities and support the growth of these groups on campus.
- Work with OFSL staff and fraternity and sorority leaders to create an annual leadership retreat for the governing councils and presidents of each organization.
Collaboration and Relationship Building:
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with fraternity and sorority community constituents including inter/national headquarters staff, local advisory leadership, housing corporations, faculty and staff advisors, alumni, and parents to advance the mission and values of the fraternity and sorority community.
- Collaborate with the Director of Housing & Residential Life (HRL) and other HRL staff to ensure that all students understand the rights, responsibilities, and privileges of living in the university and surrounding communities.
- Collaborate with unit leads within the Office for Student Affairs, as well as other units across the University to ensure the long-term success of the fraternity/sorority community.
- Partner with the Minnesota Greek Alumni Council (MGAC), an advisory group of Greek alumni charged with supporting the fraternity and sorority life community, on specific initiatives to enhance the student experience in the Greek community.
Communication:
- Work with Student Unions & Activities Marketing staff to develop all marketing & communications for the OFSL area (including Web site, marketing materials, and the implementation of a communication plan with students and stakeholders).
