QA Technician – 2nd shift CLIO Snacks

Shift hours – 2 pm – 1030 pm

The Opportunity:
Looking for a self-motivated, detail-oriented candidate to join our growing Quality department in our fast-growing food manufacturing facility. The job requirement will include assisting in daily quality and food safety related functions, and additional tasks assigned by the Quality Manager.

What You?ll Do:
Conducts pre-op and product change over inspections.

Conducts lab analysis on raw ingredients and finished goods.

Conducts quality control checks from beginning to end of manufacturing process.

Assists with product shelf-life management and analysis.

Prepares samples for internal and 3rd party lab analysis.

Monitors the raw materials deliveries to ensure that the right products are delivered for processing.

Inspects incoming goods for release and use in production.

Reviews finished good labels and verifies lot and date codes.

Monitors lab supplies

Reports all product nonconformities and processing issues to Quality manager, as it relates to product quality or food safety.

Assists in maintaining supplier approval file, requesting documentation and certification renewals.

Assists in maintenance of training programs on GMPs, HACCP and other Food Safety topics for targeted employees.

Ensures compliance to regulatory requirements, SQF, HACCP and GMP activities at all levels of operation.

Helps maintain quality manuals/SOPs, production/processing forms and records to meet established standards per SQF system.

Other jobs as assigned by the Senior Quality/Food Safety Manager.

What you’ll Need:
Basic understanding of GMPS

Strong team player and fast learner

Internally motivated self-starter and able to manage multiple tasks

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

HACCP, SQF and/or PCQI certification is a plus

Able to communicate in English. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Basic knowledge of MS Word, and Excel

Very Flexible schedule. Must be willing and able to work different shifts.

Associate degree in science/work experience equivalent preferred.

At least one-year experience in quality role in food manufacturing environment.

Entry-level candidates can be considered.

Start-up experience

Work Environment:
Production floor (80%) and office environment (20%).

Occasional exposure to cold room/freezer temperatures and noise associated with a manufacturing environment.

Lifting 20 pounds maximum with occasional lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 10 pounds.

Walking or standing to a significant degree, with a degree of seated time as well as pushing and pulling as required.
