Market Risk management serves as independent risk oversight of the Firm’s trading activities across the various trading desks and trading portfolios. The Global Market Risk Portfolio Analysis team within Market Risk is responsible for the implementation and management of cross-product processes and analysis to support the Global Markets business and senior Risk management.
The team is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Market Risk Reporting team. The candidate will lead both ongoing BAU and initiative work in the reporting workstream, particularly for regulatory deliverables around the Stress Testing process including production of the FR Y-14Q. This includes managing the end-to-end 14Q production process, fielding ad hoc questions from senior leaders and regulators, and developing and enhancing new and existing reports/reporting functionality.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Lead production of the 14Q deliverables
- Implement new FRB requirements and adhoc requests in a timely manner
- Ensure proper procedures are in place and updated regularly
- Enhance 14Q process through automation and strategic review
- Liaise with Market Risk Technology for production and process improvement
- Work closely with all stakeholders to assess impact of potential new projects on 14Q reporting
- Produce control evidence documentation and 14Q review evidence for senior management
- Design, implementation, and documentation of control processes around 14Q to ensure accuracy and completeness of stress test results submissions
- Engage with Regulators and Internal Audit to explain results, analysis and high-level methodologies employed for 14Q
- Train junior staff
Required Candidate Qualifications and Skills Including # of Years Prior Experience Needed:
- 5-10 years of experience in market risk reporting or related area
- Very high level of attention to detail
- Very high level of Microsoft Excel proficiency
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Intellectually curious with the ability to investigate and develop root cause analysis for portfolio changes and propose corresponding process or technology changes
- Adept at communication with ability to influence co-workers across our global team and all levels of the organization
- Ability to aggregate and synthesize complex data from multiple sources
Desired Candidate Qualifications and Skills:
- Post graduate finance related qualification (i.e. CFA or FRM)
- Math, sciences, finance, business or other relevant degrees preferred
- Experience in a Trading-related field with good understanding of traded products and basic sensitivity metrics like greeks
- Familiarity with other key risk metrics like Value-at-Risk (VaR) and 14Q Trading scheduled
- Familiarity with coding, Python or SQL
