Santa Fe Campus Pastor

General Job Description: To advance the mission of Calvary Church anywhere and anytime doing anything.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:

Be responsible for the overall pastoral care for the flock of Calvary Church Santa Fe (hereinafter referred to as CCSF) through shepherding, through friendship, through counsel, through teaching and training, by prayer, all of which is accomplished by spending time with them whether in person onsite or offsite or by phone, email, text, or video call

o It cannot be overstressed how oversimplified this one detail can sound since weekly, and sometimes daily, it involves hours and hours of spiritual, mental, emotional and consequently physical engagement with others who are most often experiencing various levels distress, grief, confusion, doubt, hardship, and/or other various difficulties, making this alone a very taxing part of the calling

Officiate funerals and weddings, as requested (you will be trained by us how Calvary Church does this)

Provide biblical counseling to scheduled and walk in appointments (you will be trained by us how Calvary Church does this)

Plan the corporate worship services of CCSF through prayer, conceptual forethought, musical appropriateness, while ensuring that all aspects of the service in advance are in line with your overseer’s direction. (you will be trained by us how Calvary Church does this)

o Preparation

  • Ensuring all needed supplies are ready and available for service (coffee bar supplies, Decision Team supplies, Bibles, etc.).
  • Arriving early to make sure campus is clean and everything is working properly.

o Pre-service

  • Make sure volunteers are accomplishing set tasks.
  • New volunteers are set up to shadow and learn procedures and ministry mindedness.
  • All auxiliary sound, video, equipment is set up (oversight).

o Service

  • Oversee that service goes as smoothly and undistracted as possible.
  • Give announcements.
  • Facilitate altar calls.
  • Alert security and volunteers of any concerns, if needed.
  • Close out service.

o After service

  • Be available to counsel/ministry.
  • Collect tithes, or ensure they are properly collected.

Planning of specific Santa Fe events

o Meetings are held for these types of events and follow up as we go (ServiceU, PO’s, etc.)

o You are the first person to arrive on campus and the last to leave

o Oversight of event volunteers

o Keeping a ministry mindset as we plan flow and order of services, etc.

Events, Process, Production Meetings: Planning of specific CCSF events

o Meetings are held for these types of events and follow up as we go (ServiceU, PO’s, etc.)

o You are the first person to arrive on campus and the last to leave

o Oversight of event volunteers

o Keeping a ministry mindset as we plan flow and order of services, etc.

Be available before and after services to talk and/or pray with the congregation (you will be trained by us how Calvary Church does this)

Conduct baptisms (you will be trained by us how Calvary Church does this)

Attend pastoral meetings at the Osuna Campus as assigned

o Tuesdays for sure, and possibly Thursdays for training.

Respond to emails and letters, as assigned (you will be trained by us how Calvary Church does this)

Oversee and/or participate in special events and concerts, as required (you will be trained by us how Calvary Church does this)

o This includes overseeing and updating our volunteers and future staff of events and policy changes, looking after them pastorally (prayer, counsel, training, funerals, etc.); making sure our work environment is in keeping with our Calvary Church culture, fruitful, open, and conducive to ministry, while equipping and commissioning our volunteers with tasks that they are capable and gifted to do.

Utilize mandatory church systems to aid the effective administration of processes to include, but not limited to, Ministry Platform (Church Management Software), Paylocity (payroll/HR) and ServiceU (event coordination) (you will be trained by us how Calvary Church does this)

Maintenance/Janitorial/Clean Up/Presentation

o Ensure that the Santa Fe campus is prepared for service days and other ministry opportunities.

o Maintain the campus janitorial stock and general cleaning. (vacuuming, sweeping, stock toiletries…)

o Maintenance team is notified of any problems that need to be addressed at CCSF

o Take time to improve the facility for services and events

Oversee and further develop CCSF’s Solomon’s Porch Coffee Shop with Osuna’s SOPO manager, Ian Lowe—details TBD

Dedicate 4 hours of study time every week to the completing of your study resources and assignments for your Internship Process.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Teachable and spiritually gifted

High School Diploma or equivalent

2 years of committed ministry involvement

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Exceptional interpersonal skills

Displays the demeanor of an ambassador of Christ when exercising interpersonal communication skills

Demonstrates ability to cooperate with and submit to authority

Demonstrates ability to work independently on assigned tasks, accepts direction, and takes initiative to complete responsibilities

Ability to maintain and respect confidentiality

Strong leadership and organizational skills

A Christ centered heart to serve

Qualities of a bishop as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:7-9

School of Ministry or equivalent, preferred.

Possess a thorough and robust knowledge of scripture

Have a pastoral call to minister

Proficient with Mac or PC systems and programs as well as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Qualities to aspire to to progress towards Pastoral Licensure:

o A Pastor must be devoted to his wife; be a one-woman man (Titus 1:6; 1 Tim 3:2)

o A Pastor’s children must be in submission, though not perfect (Titus 1:6; 1 Tim 3:4-5)

o A Pastor is a faithful Steward (Titus 1:7) Here the term used is overseer (Greek episkopos)

o A Pastor must be humble – not arrogant (Titus 1:7)

o A Pastor must be gentle – not quick-tempered (Titus 1:7; 1 Tim 3:3)

o A Pastor must be sober – not a drunkard (Titus 1:7; 1 Tim 3:3)

o A Pastor must be peaceful – not violent (Titus 1:7; 1 Tim 3:3)

o A Pastor must have financial integrity – not greedy for gain (Titus 1:7; 1 Tim 3:3; 1 Peter 5:3)

o A Pastor must be hospitable (Titus 1:8; 1 Tim 3:2)

o A Pastor must be a lover of good (Titus 1:8)

o A Pastor genuinely loves what is good.

o A Pastor must be self-controlled (Titus 1:8; 1 Tim 3:2)

o A Pastor must be upright (Titus 1:8)

o A Pastor must be holy (Titus 1:8)

o A Pastor must be able to teach (Titus 1:9; 1 Tim 3:2)

o A Pastor must be spiritually mature (1 Tim 3:6)

o A Pastor must be respectable (1 Tim 3:7)

o A Pastor must mitigate against division within the church, and must address those sowing discord

o A Pastor must mitigate against those working to disparage the church and it’s leadership

Other specific experience:
o Previous proven obedience to Christ over the course of years (1 Tim 3:6)

o Previous proven submission to church leadership

o Previous proven vibrancy in ministry

o Previous biblical success in leading other Christians and ministries

ESSENTIAL TASKS:
Daily, when on the clock:
o Make and return phone calls

o Write and reply to emails

o Counsel and/or pray with others (congregants, ministry leaders, staff, etc.)

o Help lead the church by meeting with and/or conferring with staff, ministry leadership, or congregants

o Connect people with who and/or what ministries can address their needs, concerns, troubles, etc…

o Run services or events, as scheduled

Weekly:
o Provide general ministry assistance for all ministries and people/leaders/congregants related to Santa Fe.

Monthly:
o Participate in baptisms (warmer months)

o Make hospital or home visits, as requested

o Officiate funeral or interment services or wedding ceremonies, as requested

o Write letters of reference or confirmation for people, as requested

o Assist with pastoral mediation in situations where staff and/or congregants have conflict with others in the church

o Assist with ongoing church discipline issues at CSF involving the flock of CSF

o Assist ongoing processes involving restoration from church discipline issues involving the flock of CSF

o Oversee CCSF Communion Board and lead communion services

o Serve on Osuna Communion Board, as applicable
