JOB DESCRIPTION
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and professional individual to build their career with our Transportation Department as a Shuttle Driver. This is a dynamic role where you will be a key part of our Transportation Team with objectives including:
- Safe and timely delivery of trailers to satellite locations while operating a CDL-A licensed tractor trailer
- Making deliveries, picking up back hauls, unloading and transferring returns, and helping around the yard when needed
- Strict adherence to DOT Regulations and Nicholas and Company Safety Policies
- Demonstrating excellent customer service
HOW YOU’LL HELP THE TEAM SUCCEED:
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip in accordance with DOT regulations and Company procedures
- Obey all traffic rules and immediately report accidents or damage; report repair issues immediately
- Operate a tractor trailer in traffic and in variable weather conditions
- Report any routing changes and/or problems with timely delivery to supervisor
- Operate Samsara computer to track stops and location
- Backhauls and/or local pick-ups when needed
- Keep equipment clean and report any vehicle repair issues immediately
- Meet company attendance and hygiene standard requirements
- Participate in formalized training and successfully pass evaluations
DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU?
- Is at least 21 years old
- Has a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with clean MVR (no more than one ticket)
- Meets all DOT requirements and holds a current medical card
- Has at least one year of commercial driving experience
- Current Doubles Endorsement
- Is able to read, write and communicate with internal team members and customers as it relates to the job and to safety regulations
- Can demonstrate basic math skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to lift 20-100 lbs. repetitively
BONUS POINTS FOR:
- One year of experience with doubles
HOURLY PAY RATE:
- $25.00 per hour during training. Once trained will be paid flat rate based on miles and drop/hook.
