Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
Position is responsible for general diagnosis and repair of central temperature control systems for all HVAC systems in campus residential communities and Greek facilities. This position will also have responsibility for regional heating and cooling systems in SCUB facilities, and perform chiller work. In addition, the position will diagnose and perform service repairs to gas burners in the renovated Greek facilities.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED AND Eight years progressively responsible experience in any combination of air conditioning, refrigeration, temperature control, steam distribution, or heating trades.

Preferences:
. Driver’s license with less than 6 points required, and no restrictions that would prevent them from driving a State vehicle. CFC certification required.

Preferred candidates with high level of computer skills to diagnose HVAC systems using building automation systems (BAS), maintenance management system (CMMS).

Physical Demands

Must have the ability to work in, on, around, over, and under fixed equipment and machinery; to work at heights up to 35 feet; to manipulate heavy equipment, tools and supplies and/or exert force up to 50lbs; to concurrently manipulate multiple controls on machinery and equipment; to climb ladders, service lifts, and scaffolding; to work in hazardous or irritating environments, confined spaces, and adverse weather or temperature conditions; to wear and work in personal protective equipment. Incumbent will be required to wear Uniforms, Safety Footwear and other required PPE provided by the University.

Position is Essential and is subject to a 24-hour day, 7-day week span of operation. Incumbent will be required to do work which may involve bending, stooping, walking and climbing. Will assist with/lead snow removal activities, which may require using snow removal equipment (tractors, snow blowers, shovels), and working outside in cold weather for extended periods. Will require extended hours/overtime work due to weather emergencies, scheduled openings and closings.
