responsibilities

As a Process Engineer your responsibilities will include:

  • Identify process areas for improvement (operations, engineering, quality, EHS); collect, analyze and manage data from global processes; create trend charts based on the data; design and outline projects based on analyzed data and suggest areas for improvement.
  • Project planning, vendor and contractor management; new equipment installation and start-up at various facilities; old equipment decommissioning at various facilities.
  • Interface with various departments globally by administering the programs to manage the process engineering functions at Drew; train global personnel on various GPE topics; work in conjunction with local engineers as may be necessary, and other business areas toward process control, improvement, & alignment.
  • Utilization of improvement tools that support the processes of Drew worldwide; research and submit best practices to enforce use of the tools at facilities.
  • Devising cost effective methods that can be used to modify existing processes.
  • Create presentations and organize meetings as may be required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and creatively.

requirements

As the ideal candidate for the Process Engineer, you should possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum three-years’ work experience in an engineering position at a chemical company.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar engineering software a plus, but not required. 
  • Six Sigma green/black belt is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs  
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.  
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Effectively work across borders, geographies, cultures and organizational boundaries. 
  • Effective networking, presentation, negotiation and communication skills. Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Requires international travel of at least 10%
  • Must possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid passport.
  • Ability to gain legal entry to all European nations, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly and effectively, in English.
