JOB DESCRIPTION
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and professional individual to build their career with our Security Department as a Security Supervisor. This is a dynamic role where you will be a key part of our Security Team with objectives including:

  • Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of Nicholas and Company policies and procedures.
  • Under the direction of the Risk and Safety Director, supervise a team of security technicians

HOW YOU’LL HELP THE TEAM SUCCEED:

  • Arranging work schedules to ensure required coverage and approving daily time sheets and paid time off (PTO) requests
  • Assigning general and specific duties
  • Reviewing shift logs and taking appropriate action
  • Holding team mtg. and debriefings regarding special assignments to address site activities
  • Provide or schedule relevant training to the security technicians
  • Protecting the company’s assets relative to theft, assault, fire, and other safety and facility issues.
  • Observing for signs of crime or disorder and investigate.
  • Securing premises by completing patrols internal and external to the building and document activities in a written log and/or electronic application. The patrols will include building access points, general grounds, and monitoring surveillance equipment.
  • Creating/updating standard operating procedure documents
  • Completing and submitting shift reports by recording observations, information, and surveillance activities.
  • Responding to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to employees and site visitors.
  • Learn and assist in the management of the site badge access control system(s) learn and assist in the management of the security camera surveillance system

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU?

  • At least 18 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent
  • Can successfully complete a background investigation and a drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
  • Willing to acquire certification in CPR/First Aid/AED is required within 60 days of hire (training will be provided by Nicholas and Company)
  • Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology
  • Able to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently
  • Able to:
  • Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat
  • Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
  • Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
  • Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time
  • Able to quickly learn our badge access control and security camera surveillance systems is required. Experience with a badge access control system and security camera surveillance system a plus.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time, lift up to 40 lbs., walk on even and uneven surfaces and stairs, have fine motor coordination.
NOT REQUIRED BUT BONUS POINTS FOR:

  • Experience in emergency response
  • Experience in an employee supervisory role
